Zig Apartments — EV Charging with New & Existing Circuits
Location: Seattle, Washington
Client: Resound Energy
Location: Seattle, Washington
Project Type: EV Charging Design (Mixed New/Existing)
PE Stamp: WA PE 55998 • OR PE 108239PE
Project Overview
Zig Apartments required a multi-charger EV design that combined new Wallbox units with reuse of existing infrastructure. The objective was to deliver a cost-effective retrofit that maintained safety, code compliance, and clear documentation for installation.
Engineering Approach
Existing conduits and conductors were reviewed and verified for reuse where appropriate. New shared circuits were added to support additional chargers, with EV panel loading carefully balanced.
Key Technical Highlights
- Blend of new shared circuits and reused existing conduits.
- Verification of abandoned conduits for suitability and capacity.
- Optimized charger groupings for panel balancing and load management.
- Voltage-drop modeling under combined load conditions.
Deliverables
- PE-stamped design package.
- One-line diagram.
- Conduit and conductor schedule.
- Load and voltage-drop documentation.
- Updated as-built markups and installation notes.
