Vale Apartments — Shared-Circuit EV Charging Upgrade
Location: Bellevue, Washington
Client: Resound Energy
Location: Bellevue, Washington
Project Type: EV Charging Infrastructure
PE Stamp: WA PE 55998 • OR PE 108239PE
Project Overview
Vale Apartments required a scalable EV charging solution in an underground garage with structural constraints. The goal was to design a shared-circuit layout that maximized stall coverage while minimizing electrical upgrades and avoiding disruptive core drilling.
Engineering Approach
PNW Electrical Engineering developed a shared-circuit Wallbox design tied into the existing electrical room. Conduit routing and homerun lengths were carefully planned to maintain acceptable voltage drop while preserving future expansion options.
Key Technical Highlights
- Shared-circuit architecture to support multiple Wallbox chargers efficiently.
- Routing strategy built around existing building structure and limitations.
- Panel capacity checks and voltage-drop calculations for long homeruns.
- Template-based design approach to support future phases at the same site.
Deliverables
- PE-stamped engineering submittal package.
- One-line diagram.
- Voltage-drop and load calculations.
- Panel schedules.
- Charger layout notes and routing recommendations.
